Situated in the Wairau Valley, Cloudy Bay is famous for the luminous Sauvignon Blanc, created in the 1990s. The grapes grown here produce a fresh, fruity taste and aroma. You’ll find three main varieties of wine produced here. They are Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Enjoy a relaxing few hours at the winery, sampling a glass or two with a delicious snack from the raw food bar. You can also try a few Te Mataku oysters, or cheeses.
Brancott Estate Vineyards
Brancott Estate is an internationally renowned brand name, known for quality and consistency. Situated in Blenheim, the vineyards make a beautiful place to visit. There is plenty to do here with a 45-minute history lesson with wine tasting, a vineyard cycle tour, and helicopter ride. Also, you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant, looking out over vast acres of vines.
Hans Herzog Vineyards and Winery
Hanz Herzog is situated in Blenheim, and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Known for his obsession with grapes, Hanz grows around 30 different varieties. Sample some of the wines on offer while enjoying a gourmet meal in the restaurant or bistro. You’ll find each wine has a sweet fruity mix of tropical fruits, pear, and citrus, with floral tones.
Nautilus Estate is home to the unique “heartbreak grape”, and Pinot Noir wine. Enjoy a private wine tasting session, as well as some of the activities on offer. These include a sensory discovery workshop and a falcon encounter.
